Overview

Video games could definitely be considered a form of art. From the visual artwork in the game to the sounds used to make it interesting, the creativity that goes into a video game is what makes it art. People create video games, and they decide how to produce a successful game. They choose the colors, the animations, the objects, the sounds, the design, the rules, etc. All of these are chosen by someone creating something for others to view and play. The fact that video games are created by someone, as well as the features these video games include are what makes video games art.

When we look at something that we consider to be great art, we know that there is someone who created that painting, or that sculpture, or that drawing, or whatever it is that you consider to be art. The creation is often made by someone who has the intent of sharing their talent with everyone. Video games are made by someone who intends to share their creative talent with others who enjoy video games. Video gamers are making their art to be entertaining to others.
Video games are also art because of the features they include. The way a video game designer chooses to build his or her game is completely up to them. He or she decides what to put in the game in order for it to be fun and interesting for the players. These features all add up to one final piece of art.

Video games are art because people create them with the intent of having them be viewed by others. They are also art because of everything that goes into creating them. While they might not be the same kind of art as other forms, they are still a art because of the creativity and thought that went in to making them.
